South Pacific Circle – SYD-NAN

My flight was quite a ways from the Qantas First Lounge, so I decided to venture closer to my gate.  There was an American Express Centurion Lounge nearby for me to check out.  Finding the lounge was quite eazy, but definitely was not in a desirable location, deep down in the basement.  Ok, it wasnt the basement but it did feel basement-ish and was on the bottom floor of the terminal. 

I was low on energy, and quite full so I did not order any food.  I simply rested there for a short time before heading up to my gate. 

I was a bit incoherent and my mind is a bit fuzzy as I was definitely not feeling well. I thought I was scheduled in the Isle seat on a 737-800. As I had my passport checked, I was handed a new boarding pass. I was in a window seat, and we were now on an A350-900. At 14:00 we boarded our 4-ish hour flight to Nadia Fiji.

I was one of the first to board and settled into my seat. soon after the Isle seat was occupied. The middle seat remained vacant while the entire plane loaded. The very last person boarding, was a local Fiji ‘an. Tall, broad shoulders, and extremely handsome. Again, I was in no mood to socialize due to being under the weather, so I continued to wear my headphones and attempted to sleep (which never happened). This gentleman sat right next to me in the middle seat.  He seemed to be open to socializing but I was just in a mood and quite anti-social at the time.  More to this at the end. 

During the trip, I watched some movies, enjoyed a light meal and just kept to myself attempting to sleep multiple times.

Once we landed and were taxiing to the gate, the gentleman next to me stated “Excuse me, you look familiar. Do you live in Fiji?” I explained i had never been here before and I’m from USA. We then get into a lengthy conversation about Fiji and his work etc.  No keep your mind out of the gutter.  He was not “hitting” on me.  He was simply a really nice guy and showed how friendly the locals are here.  We parted ways at the Immigration line.  

I was under the weather the past couple days and this is when I booked my ride to my hotel.  I will agree, I was not thinking, didn’t contact the hotel and did not do any research.  I don’t even remember how I found their information but I booked an expensive ride to my hotel.  The procedure was to check in here (below) and they will then get me to my destination.  I do not have anything bad to say about them.  They were friendly, helpful, and polite.  I just think it cost more then it should have. 

I Arrived at my hotel and was finally able to get some sleep.
