We initially stayed at another hotel further north in the city to stay close to things we wanted to do near there. Afterward, we moved further south for close walking distance to the things we wanted to do near there. We stayed at Double Tree Hilton Istanbul Sirkeci. On this specific day, there were some roads that were closed. This funneled traffic onto specific streets, making it difficult for our driver to get us to our destination. He was using the UBER app, and we were following Google Maps. Niether of those Apps showed the closed street. He made multiple U-Turns and obviously was a bit frustrated by the closed roads. We offered to walk the last 5 blocks as traffic was horendous. Walking, however, was easy.
As we walked through tight streets, dodging the street car, other passengers, and vehicles, we were amazed and in Awe of the Architecture and lay out. However, that is for another blog. This is about the hotel.
We were early, and we did not notify them we were arriving early. My partner has diamond status, so that initiated an upgrade and free breakfast. Because of our early arrival, the room was not ready, and they informed us it would be in about an hour or so. They offered us some iced tea, which was Liptons bottled iced tea. And welcomed greatly. We checked our luggage with the Bell-Man and walked about the area.
Upon checking in, we noticed the hotel was a bit aged but still nice. We arrived in our “suite” and explored the room. Overall, it was a nice room. Roomy and comfortable. The view out the windows looked out down a street.

Initally I was thinking this was a small room, and then I remembered we were in Europe where most rooms were small. It was comfortable for both of us.

We did not get any photos of breakfast, but it was located on the bottom floor and was typical. I would recommend this hotel and location.
