My flight began with a very short walk from the Starlux Galactic Lounge to gate D8.  I left in time to give myself about 14-20 extra minutes at the gate, as USA flights tend to have additional security questions or searches.  This flight started with 1 quick question before heading down to the gate area, “Are you carrying anything for anyone else?”  My obvious answer is “No. “

This leaves a quick moment for a soapbox rant.  I hate… I loathe buying things for anyone.  Call me selfish, or arrogant, or a hater, but I do not like taking my time out of my vacation to go buy people their “wish list” of items to bring back for them.  I generally do not check a bag, and many of these requests require liquids greater than the allowed carryon limit.  I really hate buying things for people, especially when they ask or beg.

Ok, stepping off.  Once at the gate, the first class was called.  They waited for some time as though they had lost the first class passenger.  I noticed that once on board, there was ONE first-class passenger.  We waited for about 10 minutes, and apparently, they didn’t find him until the end of boarding, some they just jumped to business class.

Upon boarding, the flight attendants were willing and available to help with luggage and help find your seat.  I was seat 4A.

The back wall in the business class cabin had this beautiful piece of decore that was backlit with the orange ambient light.  It was nice and was dimmed during the “night” time.

As before, the seat was comfortable and functanable.  My only complaint was the lack of storage down in the seat area.  Again, I stored my jacket, pillow, blanket, and shoes down in the foot stool area.

At night, the flight attendant placed a pad on the seat for sleeping.  I found the seat, enough room for sleeping, streatching and turning.  With the door, I felt some sort of privacy.  The temperature was a bit hot for me, so I opened the door just a bit for some extra air flow.

Pre-departure drink was issued of a fruit juice and a hot towel.  I prefer a super hot towel, but this towel was just hot.

Menu provided for your entertainment.

About 1.5 hours into the flight, meal service began.  Started off a salad with slami and cheese.  It was delicious.  I also tried two different wines, red and white.

Next was chestnut cream soup with bacon bits.  I’m not an adventerous eater, but this was new to me.  It was actually very good soup.  I really enjoyed it.  The nut was not too strong, and overall, it was smooth.

I then ordered the sparerib.  It was also good. The meat fell off the bone and was very tender.  The mushrooms, I was not a big fan.  I’m extremely picky with food so maybe it was just me.

Mid-flight, I ordered the waygu beef burger.  The bun was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside type of bun.  It was actually really good.  The buger, although small, included a cheese type of butter.  Obviously, I added the pickles and some lettuce.  It was good.  I just wish the buger was bigger.

Two hours from landing breakfast was served.  It started with a vegetable salad, with a croissant and then chicken with a mushrrom gravy.  Again, this was very good.

Right before landing, we were offered either or both a digestive gummy and/or a mint.

Starlux is a good airline.  I enjoyed the trip.  We departed Taipei at 11:30PM and arrived LAX around 19:30pm.  I tried to adjust my sleep schedule to home, so immediately after eating, I slept.  I only got in 4 hours, so I would sleep once I arrived home.
