STARLUX GALAXY LOUNGE

I arrived at the airport 5 hours before my flight for multiple reasons.  1. I was bored, and nothing was open.  2. I wanted to have plenty of time to experience the lounge. 

I arrived so early that the ticket counter was not open, so I could not get a printed lounge pass with instructions.  Instead, I checked in on the app and received an electrong boarding pass to enter the steryl area. One past security, I began looking for the lounge.  There were limited signs for the Starlux lounge.  I asked for instructions, and the security officer led me upstairs and said it was on the right.  This was the wrong lounge.  I looked it up online, and initially, i read the instructions wrong and looked again in their wrong area.  Once I stopped and focused, I located the lounge between D7 and D8. 

I entered the lounge and checked in at the counter.  All of the agents had a tag that stated “Trainee.”  The three of them were confused about how I got past security without a paper ticket.  I showed them my electronic boarding pass, and they went to get another agent who appeared to have some authority.  He simply printed out my lounge pass and retained it, then he printed my boarding pass and instructed me to use the paper ticket and not the electronic ticket.  After that, I entered the portal to the actual lounge.  I was the first and only one in the lounge.  Initially, I found a seat upstairs in the dinningroom area.  After about an hour, I found the downstairs much quieter and private. 

The lounge had some local fair and a limited assortment of drinks.  My favorite was the Honey Lemonaide.  I think I drank about 8 bottles while in the lounge along with two of the bottled Iced Teas. 

I found the bathroom extremely clean but kind of awkward.  The bathroom door slid sideways, and you can see very well into the bathroom from the hallway.  I wasn’t sure how to lock the door if I could or not even though I was the only one in the lounge.  So I went into one of the toilet stalls. 

The shower was also very clean.  I had to talk with the front desk and relinquished my boarding pass to get a key to the bathroom.  The attendant escorted me to the shower room and reminded me to put the key into the key card thingy, which locks the door.  Although it locked the door, I kind of felt a bit insecure thinking someone would come in or see me.  I guess it was just the door type.  But, I had no issue. 

In closing, i’m slowly getting this Starlux theme.  It’s more of an upperclass, space age type of theme.  I’m not really into it.  It is a classy and upper scale experience.  But I just find it weird, compared to the other experiences I have had.  Maybe a few more trips will help me settle in.  I don’t have any major complaints, I’m just not totally into it yet.
