A piece meal trip to Asia. I flew from the USA to TPE on one airline. I then purchased a different ticket from TPE-BKK via MNL. Yeah I know, kind of strange. The exciting part is I would have 24 hours in MNL.
Once arriving in TPE, I stopped by the China Airlines Lounge for a quick shower. My time in TPE would be limited to less than 2 hours. Time enough for a shower, but I could not stay long.
The China Airlines lounge is below the terminal level. It’s a very long, narrow space without windows. Overall it’s a nice lounge, but it’s also a dark-ish, windowless hallway.

My next flight would be on an A330, business class. At this point I was so tired and under the weather (travel runs me down) that I didn’t eat but slept the whole 2.5 hour flight.
The Cabin was old but still comfortable. The seat reclined enough for an almost lay flat sleep.

A menu was presented, but again nothing was ordered.

After waking up from my nap, I realized there was not very many people on this flight and not many people in business class. I think I counted 5 persons.

After 24 hours in MNL, my next flight was awaiting. Thai Airways A330 to BKK. This leg of my flight I was in the poor mans first class. All three seats to myself.

MNL airport is not transfer friendly. Today, however I was departing terminal 3. The day prior my flight arrived in terminal 1. My expirience in the past transfering terminals has not been friendly. One time it took me 3 hours to transfer via their “Terminal Bus”. I learned my lesson and gave myself 24 hours.
Terminal 3 is the niceset in my opinion. It is where most of the international flights arrive (minus a few that land in terminal 1).

My “first class” seat was in the permanent lay flat position, which I used most of the trip. It was comfortable and I had 3 pillows and a blanket.

It has been a while since I had a meal in Coach. So this was a nostalgic expirience. Overall the food was decent.

3. 5 hours later we arrived in BKK.
