We arrived in France the night before, and as soon as we arrived, we asked the concierge if he could obtain 4 tickets to the Louvre for us as they were sold out online. As always, the concierge came through for us. Our tickets were for the Louvre and a boat cruise. They were time stamped to enter at a specific time. We arrived by Uber to the Louvre nice and early for our time stamp and noticed there was already a line for our time period. We cued in line and waited about 30 minutes in the nice cold weather. Thank god it was not raining.

After going through security and bag check and ticket check, we were finally inside. As you enter, you go down a long flight of stairs/escalator into the main room. This place is big. And for someone like me who doesn’t really care for museums, I knew this would be a day of hell. To put it this way, we went to a museum before with 4 buildings and multiple floors in each building. We were with friends. My friend and I went through all 4 buildings and each floor. When we were done, we each called our partners who were together, and they were still on floor 1 of the first building. Thank god there was a bar. For my partner and his parents, this would be a day of job and a bucket list item checked off.

The Louvre has a grand hall in the middle, and then the Museum is a horseshoe around the main hall. There are multiple floors, and they do not line up with one another, so navigating can be quite difficult. Obviously, the popular pieces of artwork are located far from the entrance, and to find them is like a scavenger hunt.
This day there was a lot of people. I do not like crowds. I do not like museums. I do not like mazes. But I had fun and there was a lot to look at. Artwork, naked statues with appropriate equipment, architecture, and other things.

Just a fair warning, from here on down, there may be pieces of artwork that some conservative people may be a bit offended. So, proceed at your own choice.
I will basically do a photo dump from here on down and comment at the end. I do not have the details of the artwork to describe for each photo. So, enjoy the photos.

We were at the Louve for about 6 hours or maybe more. We walked through maybe 50-60% of it. We stopped at our list of items and did not focus on each item. One day is NOT sufficient to see the entire Louve in detail.
For someone like me who can care less about museums, it was just a long ass day of seeing naked statues and some artwork that for some reason is popular but doesn’t interest me. Would I go again? No, unless my partner threatened me of course… I mean if he asked me to go with him…..
What did I learn?
1. If you cannot get tickets online, ask your concierge. You may have to pay a bit more and might have add-ons, but you’ll get tickets.
2. It’s cold in Paris in August.
3. Right after we left the Louvre, we were waiting on the side of the street for an Uber. and out of nowhere ad freak rainstorm happened and drenched us. There wasn’t a warning, wasn’t a sign, nothing. Just went from normal clouds to a deluge of rain. So, we learned, Bring an umbrella.
