Two days prior, I took a quick trip to Udon Thani with no intentions of accompanying my friend to Naka Island (A luxury Collection Resort & Spa in Phuket by Marriott). However, at the last minute I decided I would return to Bangkok and then travel to Phuket, with him. And I’m glad I did.

Not knowing what to expect we hopped onto an Air Asia flight to Phuket from Bangkok. Took a grab to the dock at Ao Po Grand Marina. There we waited a short time for the boat to arrive that will take us to our resort.

This started a quick speed boat cruise of only 10-15 minutes over to our island. The beaty surrounding the trip was outstanding.

After disembarking and walking up the plank (dock) we arrived at the check-in “hut”. My friend began checking in, and i just casually mentioned that I had Marriott status. The staff member added it to our reservation and upgraded us to a hut. we would soon realize how big of an upgrade this would turn out to be.

But first we had to bang the welcome gong to “let the Gods know we were there in peace” I suppose.

Our staff agent offered a welcome drink (which I do not remember what it was, but it was good) and then drove us up to our Garden View Private Outdoor Pool Villa.

The entrance had the feeling of entering the era of the Flintstones. But in a good way. The privacy wall seemed to be like a rock with our villa carved out of the middle.

Inside of the cavern was the bedroom, with a maze-like walkway to the bathroom with a glass door for privacy….

The bathroom inside and outside was much larger than just the bedroom itself. I could have lived just in the bathroom myself. But preferred to spend much of the time in the pool. The pool was provided shade by tall trees around the yard.

The beauty of the yard brought this feeling of living in the jungle with privacy from the world.

Breakfast and Dinner was at the restaurant on the beach.  Open Air with an amazing view.  Lunch was at another restaurant on the same beach.

There was a spa which we did not utilize as we were busy enjoying the view and utilizing our pool to the max.

Our three-day two-night trip was basically us staying at our villa enjoying the pool, the beautiful weather and our drinks.

The days ended quickly, and our flight was soon approaching. So, an end to the enjoyment of Naka Island came to a close with a closing Gong, walk along the beach and a boat trip back across the water to our waiting Grab back to the airport.

Bottom line, would I go back? YES. Service, location, ambiance, and just the relaxation factor pushes this to a very big YES YES YES.
