After a quick nap we went down to Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant OPAL. But first we had to stop at the Jazz bar for a drink. which we did.
The best Gin and Tonic w Lime I have had!
We ordered a Wagyu Burger! OMG it was delicious. Sorry no photo’s of the Burger!
Then we turned in for the night. It was midnight and we were exhausted. Jet Lag got the best of us.
These decor items were so tall!!!

Morning came early at 5:45 AM. Yeah I couldn’t sleep any more! So I got up, noticed the sun rise and then began making life living hell for my mates! They for some reason could not sleep either…
The view from our room was amazing!
We decided it was time to go use the pool at 6:30 AM. No one was there but us. Plus we had coffee (compliments of a new friend). Coffee at the pool watching the sun rise! WOW!
The water was so clear and the view was again amazing.
A couple later in the morning view from the room photo’s.
After freezing ourselves in the water for a couple hours it was time for breakfast… compliments of the hotel. We basically called today the sit by the pool and just relax and recover from Jet lag day.
We packed followed by a short down time, as we start our journey to Abu Dhabi and then a rush to the airport.
Now, I have status with American Airlines which is One World. We were able to check our bags and have them labeled “First Class”. Now thats important because the first class bags come down first. 🙂
It was really strange seeing some of these destinations on the screen.
We went through security, which was a joke by the way. and found the Oryx Lounge. I was able to bring one of my guests in with me and we had to pay $40 for the other, which we agreed to split. The lounge was ok. At least it had food and drinks. and Coffee. By this time I had been deteriorating due to Jet Lag. No i’m NOT OVER jet lag yet. but my goal is to stay up as long as possible tonight. We stayed for a couple hours taking care of business, drinking coffee and a Gin and Tonic then headed to our plane.
OMG They have Christmas in the middle east. At least they know who Santa is.
For those of you who love Nutella…. (passport for sizing)
Now Doha airport is weird. It’s a big square with “Gates”. But the Gates are big glass holding rooms.
You enter through the gate to the holding room and then wait for a bus to take you to your plane.
We boarded our flight to Abu Dhabi which was a quick 50 minutes.
Again this time we had a snack with Orange juice. It was called a “Chicken Sandwich”. But was flat bread with chicken.
This is a new sign on a plane i have NEVER seen before. The cell phone icon.

Abu Dhabi airport is funky! It looks like spaces ship inside and out. I did not get outside photos.
We zipped through immigration and customs. (both are a joke here. It’s NOTHING LIKE WHAT YOU SEE ON Sex and the City.” and found a cab to take us to our hotel.
Now this was a joke. We were all very tired. It’s 7:00 PM here in Abu Dhabi. and the cab driver had no clue on how to get to the St Regis. One of us had Data and was able to pull up the map. But the second issue was he didn’t speak English so kept going the wrong way. An hour later and multiple turn arounds we made it to our hotel.
We were so tired! we just hoped into our room and chilled and fell asleep. That is why there was no blog posting yesterday.
(I’m missing ton’s of photo’s because the internet is sooooooooooooooo slow to upload.)
