This is the longest day ever! I know I started Thursday AM and it’s now 1:30 AM SATURDAY but I just arrived in Doha! WOW what a trip! It went fast too. 40 hours of traveling… Well not really but basically.
Well we tried to sleep in but my friends had a 1:00 flight so we did what we could.
First we started out with a great american breakfast.
returned the rental car and headed for the airport. Upon checking in Sean asked if I wanted an earlier flight from Houston to Atlanta. I agreed and he issued me a 1:44 departure rather than a 4:45 pm departure. We then went to the United Lounge in the E terminal and relaxed for a bit.

After an hour or so I walked to my gate and enjoyed a 15 minute mechanical delay. Talk about rude. The teas passengers were so rude! they were vocal and very crowdy… Ugh. Ok well i got on my flight.. that is all that counts.
I arrived into Atlanta at Terminal T-1. my gate was F-8. Those are the furthest gates possible!
Anyhow, while in Atlanta I simply walked around for every and then sat at the F terminal. I changed into sweats! I look like a bum:-)
I boarded my plane to Dubai. Yes I was in the front. the front row of Economy.

This is the seat I got! My seat was actually nice. I had enough room in front of me to put my suitcase down in front of me and make a bed.
I watched a movie “Jobs”, ate my dinner (was pretty good) and then took an Ambien and fell asleep for 8 full hours. WOW. I woke up and I still have 4 hours to go. So I ate Breakfast watched “planes” and some TV.

I arrived in Dubai, rushed through immigration’s and headed to the ticket counter to check in with Qatar airlines for my flight to Doha. I informed the agent that I was a “platinum” with American Airlines. She informed me that first class was full but i do get to go into the first class lounge. So guess where I sat for 2 hours?
The lounge was not as I expected. there are three floors and floor two is a smoking section. Floor three is where the shower is. So yes you had to walk through the smoking section to get to the shower.. GROSS!

I waited in the Lounge, ate dinner, showered and then walked about 20 feet to my gate.
Went to Starbucks for a $5.00 Gross Iced Tea! I was amazed at the Square doughnuts though. Was very tempted to buy one. I didn’t. 😦 
Dubai airport is BUSY and kind of nice. It’s quite a maze however and not easy to navigate at all!
Anyone need a passport? They sell them here in the airport;
Just kidding. They were covers.
Boarded my plane to Doha and arrived here in Doha at 12:30 AM Saturday. I’m exhausted.
This was a very tired Erik.

They served a chicken flat break with a brownie and orange juice on this quick 50 minute flight.
Doha airport is confusing;
After being robbed of 100 Qatar Riyal (just kidding. I had to pay a visa fee.) I grabbed a cab to Doha. Doha is beautiful.
I made it to our hotel the “W”. We are staying in the WOW Suite! More “BETTER” photo’s to come later. I’m exhausted and cannot hold a camera steady.
