I was up till 2:00 AM finishing packing and jumping around with excitement. I finally fell asleep and suddenly i was awoken by my alarm at 7:30 am. I had enough time to shower, take care of last minute items and talk with a friend.
I have checked two bags with the larger one mostly filled and the small one very empty. Why? Because somehow I always tend to bring more stuff back with me than I take with me on vacation.
I got a ride to the airport at 9:00 AM for my 10:20 AM flight. I checked my two bags leaving just my back pack to carry. I then walked down to United to meet up with my Friend Israel who has been staying with me for four months.
He is heading back to Mexico after his extended vacation. We walked to security and had to split up as I went through Pre Check (total security time 1.15 minutes). I had to wait an additional 5 minutes as Israel cleared security. I walked him through the VIP line with my status with Alaska, so at least he had a slower line. We walked all the way to the gate to find my plane boarding already. We said our quick good by and I boarded the plane finding my seat at 4 A.
My flight was on a new 737-900 ER Sky Interior.
I left Seattle which had beautiful blue skies.
After A quick little meal and a movie I arrived in Houston.

The red wine was a Cabernet from Radius Vineyard. It was an amazing wine.
I watched Argo on the plane. I think it was the wrong movie to watch in regards to where i’m going.
I received a United pass from one of my friends as I had a 4 hour wait in Houston. I went to the C concourse United club near gate 33. Sorry no photo’s.
I waited around Houston airport for four hours. I cannot stand narrow walk ways at airports. Houston Terminal C has tiny walk ways. But terminal E has a massive walk way.
After walking Israel to his gate to Mexico City. We grabbed our bags rented a car and drove 30 minutes to our hotel. DT Houston is deserted. our hotel is pretty nice. (sorry no photo’s) Hilton America’s in DT Houston.
Anyhow, we went to Tapas and tried to go to Andaluca.
Not only were they closed at 10:00 PM, but the worker who walked out the door was rude and un-helpful. So i did what any person would do. I hopped on Yelp and found a great Tapas place about a mile away. It was called Hearsay Gastro Lounge. and it was one of the best Tapas Bars’ i have been to. I highly recommend it. The BBQ Brisket Sandwich was AMAZING! Not only was the food amazing, the decor and the layout of the place was just as good as the food.
Anyhow, today was a positioning flight. Tomorrow we start our trek to Dubai. Actually our first destination will be Doha via Atlanta and Dubai.
