SJU-JFK-ATL-SEA 9/30/12

5:00 comes way too early. Yeah it’s 2:00 am my home town time. I have an 8:00 am flight time and well my jet awaits. Although the moon was beautiful.

This really is a cruise ship. If you squint you might be able to make it out..

San Juan airport is similar to Hawaii where you must clear USDA Aphid control/inspection first and get your pretty red sticker before checking in your bags. This is done at any of the multiple USDA scanning stations which so far have always been empty. A quick check in and I was ready.

Now what I left out was…. Nick had to run to another terminal to change his flights. So I took his carry on with me to get USDA checked. Now that I wa checked in I had to go find him. It’s 6:25. A quick walk, ended me right at the lengthy line that nick was waiting in. It hasn’t moved since he arrived. We waited another 15 minutes. All I can say is *Jet blue get your act together!!!!

I left the presence of nick early as time was ticking down. It was now 7:00 and I was at terminal A where as my flight was at terminal B. not tat big of deal as they are connected but ill find out its a long walk. I cleared the super fast efficient “got their act together TSA security”….NOT. 20 minutes later with a total of 7 people in front if me I was on the “Air” side of security.

I arrived at my gate at 7:28. It was not boarding yet. Nick text and had just finished security and was heading my way. We were to meet at the only breakfast place open at 7:30 AM. I ordered super healthy deep fried potatoes with meat inside them. They tasted like crusty mashed potatoes with bland meatloaf.

I arrived at my gate in time to be last on the plane. No upgrade this time.. However I sat in the exit row which has the most leg room on the entire plane and no one sitting next to e. sometimes I think this is better than first class.

I continued reading my ibook “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini. I tend to read book when I travel. Not every time but quite often. It’s about the only time i’ll read a book. The hum of the engines, the whoosh of the airflow over the metal beast, and bounce of the air just relaxes and calms me. I whip out the iPad, connect to gogo listen to music and get lost in my book. I read a quarter of the book before I realized our 3.5 hour flight was coming to an end. It was quite eventless besides 3.5 hours of turbulence.

My arrival into JFK was as usual. Pushy people trying to run from the back of the plane to the front pushing past people trying to be the first one off the plane. Attitude and lip service from anyone blocking their way. I don’t know why but I have not experience this at any airpot except JFK. Every Single time i have flown through it. I just want to punch them in the face. But i’m kind of afraid they will punch back and you know me, I cry over a small little splinter!

I went to rest in the T2 Sky Club. It was nice with lot’s of windows. It is definitely the most popular out of the two terminals. I don’t like crowds and I don’t like people. So I ventured over to T3 and took a seat in Sky Club near Gate 12. Less people and more international type of persons. I settled in, grabbed a coffee…. before the beer and went to work surfing the internet looking for more Runs!

I left the lounge early and walked the airport just to get moving a bit. I’m fat! I need exercise.

I arrived at my gate to see the large circus crowd of people hovering near the door. I stayed in the back. No need to rush on the plane..

As I boarded the air craft it was apparent that we are now in a 757 and not the 737 that I flew to JFK on, but the crew was the same. They quickly recognized me and we began conversation. I answered the barrage of question. The most quizzical question was.. “Wasn’t there a flight in San Juan going to Atlanta just an hour after our flight?” I went into explanation on what I was doing. They were quite familiar with Mileage runners, stating ” we had a couple of you on yesterday’s flight down to San Juan”

Soon I was showered with free drinks courtesy of the flight crew! Again it’s good to make friends all around the world.

My arrival in Atlanta was just as expected? Arrived at gate E33. Seattle departure gate B16.
See map below.

I’m not going to lie. That was a long ass haul. yes I could have taken the little grin but remember… I’m fat. I had to walk off the alcohol! It took me 40 minutes at a fast pace to ghetto my gate. No joke. I timed it!

Ok got on my flight flew home while trying to sleep but was unproductive. I’ll get home at 12:30 am. Hello pillow!
